Here to help.

Having trouble with auxCord? Don’t worry, I’m here to help. Try the steps below; if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, email me at support@mountainroaddsp.com.

Quick start

  1. Load auxCord on a track in your DAW, mono or stereo.
  2. Activate it: click Activate and use your licence, or start the 14-day trial.
  3. On your phone, choose auxCord as the AirPlay speaker. iPhone: open Control Center, tap the AirPlay button on the music controls and pick auxCord. Mac: choose auxCord as the sound output in Control Center or System Settings › Sound.
  4. Allow the device when auxCord asks, and play. The audio arrives on the track, ready to record.

Connecting

auxCord doesn’t show up on my phone
  • Your phone and the computer running auxCord have to be on the same Wi-Fi network. On a separate guest network, auxCord will not show up.
  • Phone on the wrong network? On a Mac, Studio Connect in auxCord shows a QR code that puts guests on the network the studio Mac shares.
  • Make sure auxCord is loaded on a track; it only appears while the plugin is open in your DAW.
  • Still not there? Restart the phone, then try again.
  • On Windows, the firewall can block the connection: see Windows firewall.
My phone is connected, but I hear nothing
  • The device is waiting to be allowed. New devices ask first: click Allow (or Always allow) in auxCord’s request strip.
  • auxCord isn’t activated, or the trial has ended. Devices still connect and their meters move, but the audio stays silent until auxCord is activated. Click Activate in auxCord’s header.
  • The device is muted, or another one is soloed. Check the S and M buttons on its row.
  • In Logic Pro, see Logic Pro.
Why is there a delay?

AirPlay buffers about 2 seconds of audio, so what you hear lags the phone by about 2 seconds. That’s AirPlay itself, not auxCord, and it doesn’t matter for references, voice memos or a client’s playlist. When auxCord sends your mix to Bluetooth headphones, Bluetooth adds a few hundred milliseconds.

Can I use auxCord with an Android phone?

Android has no AirPlay built in, so you need an AirPlay app. Users have had good results with AirMusic. Once it is installed, make sure you have given the app root access to your phone; otherwise AirMusic will not be able to stream audio to auxCord.

Windows firewall: allow your DAW

Sometimes Windows Defender blocks the connections auxCord needs on the local network. To let your DAW through the firewall (Windows 11):

  1. Open Windows Security from the Start menu, or search for “Windows Security”.
  2. Click Firewall & network protection.
  3. Click Allow an app through firewall.
  4. Click Change settings (if shown).
  5. Select your DAW. Not in the list? Click Allow another app…, find and select your DAW, then click Add.
  6. Tick Private and Public.
  7. Click OK to confirm.

Your DAW

auxCord doesn’t show up in my DAW
  • Fully quit your DAW, then install auxCord. Some DAWs only rescan plugins when they start.
  • Rescan plugins in your DAW’s plugin manager if it has one.
  • Pick the format your DAW uses: AAX for Pro Tools, AU for Logic Pro and GarageBand, VST3 for most others.
  • Still missing? Download the installer again from Downloads; a broken download is rare but happens.
Logic Pro: the meters move but I don’t get sound

Try setting up your session like this:

  1. Create a stereo audio track and open auxCord on it. Set the input to Bus 1 and the output to Bus 2.
  2. Create a second audio track, set its input to Bus 2 and its output to Stereo Out.
  3. Set the second track to input monitoring or record, and start streaming audio on your device.
  4. Now you can record on the second track.

Licence and account

How do I activate auxCord, or start the trial?

Click Activate in auxCord. Your browser opens; sign in to your account and choose your licence, or start the 14-day trial. The free trial page walks you through it.

How do I move my licence to another computer?

A licence runs on 2 computers at once. To move it:

  1. Free the old computer: in your account, click Free this seat next to it, or in auxCord on that computer choose Deactivate this computer.
  2. On the new computer, click Activate in auxCord and use your licence.
My studio computer has no internet
  1. In auxCord, click Activate, then Offline…, and save the device file.
  2. On a computer that is online, go to mountainroaddsp.com/activate/offline, sign in, upload the device file and download the licence file.
  3. Bring the licence file back to the studio computer and load it in the same Offline window.
I didn’t receive an email after buying

Your licence is always in your account, under the email you bought with. If the email didn’t arrive:

  • Did the payment actually go through?
  • Make sure the email did not end up in your spam folder.

If you were charged but can’t find the email or the licence, write to support@mountainroaddsp.com.

I own auxCord 2. How do I get 3.0?

auxCord 3.0 is a free upgrade for existing owners. Sign in to your account, or create one, and enter your upgrade code under Have a code?. No code, or it doesn’t work? Write to support@mountainroaddsp.com and we’ll sort it out.

auxCord doesn’t work for me. Can I get a refund?

Yes: see the Refund & Returns policy. Before that, write to support@mountainroaddsp.com: the fix is often quick.

Still stuck?

Email support@mountainroaddsp.com. It helps to include your operating system and version, your DAW, the auxCord version from the plugin’s About box, and what you see or hear. A screenshot of the plugin window is often all it takes.
